HISTORY OF MOUNT GALLERY
In 1979 Mount Gallery opened at Embry Hills Shopping Center
in Chamblee. It was founded by Jim and Ann Mount and served two purposes.
Jim wanted to do custom picture framing and Ann wanted to have a gallery
space to showcase her original art. The Gallery quickly grew to include
the art of other artists from around the country, as well as a broad line
of unique gifts.
In 1980 David Cylc joined the staff of Mount Gallery. With David's help
the picture framing grew into the main focus of the Gallery. In 1992 Jim and
Ann retired and sold the gallery to David and his family. In 2007 the
business was relocated to its present location in Tucker. Today, quality
framing and unique gifts remain the focus of the Gallery.
David Cylc graduated from Mercer University in Atlanta with a degree in fine art. After joining Mount Gallery in 1980 he learned the craft of picture framing.
Through self study and attending seminars he was able to reach the level of CPF: Certified Picture Framer. CPF is a framing industry designation to indicate an advanced level of knowledge and craftsmanship. His artistic background combined with his advanced expertise in picture framing gives him the ability to create very unique framing designs.
